This is a photo of an archaeological zone listed in the Spanish heritage register of Bienes de Interés Cultural under the reference RI-55-0000528.

ملخص

Español: Danza de Cogul. Cogul provincia de Lleida, España. Imagen que circula por Internet. Constituye una fotografia parcial del calco que realizó el abate H. Breuil de la danza de las mujeres en torno a un hombre desnudo. Ignoro como se ha obtenido la fotografia pero es una reproducción de la obra de un investigador Henri Breuil fallecido hace mas de 50 años, puede aceptarse que pertenece al Dominio Público.
Lo anteriormente manifestado contiene un error serio que debe subsanarse. La imagen que circula por internet no pertenece al investigador Henri Breuil sino a una reproducción que se mostró durante años en la parte superior de la pared en una de las salas de Prehistoria del Museu d´Arqueologia de Barcelona. La reproducción, cabe añadir, que es muy defectuosa y muy alejada del friso rupestre original. Informacion suministrada por l´Associació Catalana d´Art Prehistòric ([email protected])
English: The Spanish summary says that according to the Catalan Association of Prehistoric Art (Associació Catalana d´Art Prehistòric) the image, despite have been shown for years in one of the Prehistory rooms of the Archaeological Museum of Barcelona (Museu d´Arqueologia de Barcelona):
  • It is both very different and defective from the original rock frieze.
  • It does not correspond to the original one from the researcher Henri Breuil.
An email address (<[email protected]>) is provided as belonging to that Catalan Association of Prehistoric Art. In order to confirm the information and hopefully get an accurate and usable image an email has been sent to them.
